About us Secure Rite Security has a long history (34 years) in the security industry, stemming from the involvement of the founding member in the securing and maintenance of all De Beers security systems in the Northern Cape. Since March 1994 Secure Rite Security has focused its operations in the Helderberg area and specializes in the installation and maintenance of, and reaction to intruder detection systems adhering to the stringent standards laid down by the South Africa Intruder Detection Services Association (SAIDSA). Of which we are also corporate members. The company is family owned, managed and run by Chris Jacobs (founding member) and Craig Austen (son-in-law and member) with a dedicated team of managers in each department. We pride ourselves on our neat installations and a fast and effective reaction service; we provide a 24-hour helpline for any Technical services required. All of our staff are approved by and members of the Private Security Industry Regulatory Association (P.S.I.R.A) Products and services Burglar alarms: Burglar alarm systems can be broadly categorized into two groups, “Hard Wired Systems” and “Wireless or Wire free Systems.” A wide range of detectors to suite almost any application are available, these include active infrared beams, passive infrared indoor and outdoor detectors, smoke detectors, glass break detectors and mechanical detectors. Hardwired systems: These are the most widely used and inexpensive systems available, they require wiring to be laid between the detectors and the main burglar alarm unit. These systems are fully supervised by using end of line resistors, but are susceptible to damage caused by rodents or workmen in the roof space. Securerite alarm technicians ensure all hardwired alarm systems are installed neatly with maximum care being given to the aesthetics of the house. If you are planning a new home it is always advisable to contact one of our sales representatives early in the planning, so that conduit pipe can be laid in the walls for the detectors. This is usually arranged with and done by your electrician. Wireless systems: These systems need minimal wiring as all the detectors are battery operated and communicate with the main burglar alarm unit by means of radio frequency. The systems are fully supervised by transmitting a test signal to the main unit on a regular basis, but are susceptible to interference caused by steel reinforced concrete, electrical distribution boards and high inductance electrical apparatus. Repeater modules are available that can relay a signal over a longer distance. Detectors: As mentioned above a wide range of intrusion detectors are available, allowing a first, second and even third line of defense if required. Our sales representatives can give you the very best advice as to what is available to cater for your specific needs. CCTV: Securerite Security is a one stop supplier for systems ranging from small 1 – 4 camera setups to the most sophisticated remotely monitored and controlled multi camera networks. We offer a full range of CCTV equipment including mono and color fixed or variable lens cameras with pan/tilt and zoom facilities, infra red and thermal technology cameras, embedded DVR and computer based DVR systems. Video transmissions via ADSL lines enable you as a client or if required Securerite Security’s Control Room to monitor the cameras off site, it also allows two way speech via a camera microphone in the form of voice over IP. Fully integrated with an access control system, CCTV can provide an effective and permanent record of all callers and potential intruders. Armed Response: Securerite Security employs highly motivated and well trained armed response officers, whose main function is to respond rapidly to all alarm signals received by our 24 hour monitoring station. Securerite security ensures that all armed response officers comply with the standards as laid out by PSIRA and our own “in house“ training modules. Armed response officers are thoroughly screened and then go though a 3 month training course to ensure they are trustworthy and competent, as our clients safety and the safety of their property are our No.1 concern. Our armed response officers are trained in the following areas, firearm handling, tactical support, self defense (armed and unarmed), advanced driving and crime scene management. Firearm handling Our response officers do regular shooting exercises, these include practical pistol handling, tactical pistol handling, speed and accuracy shooting and these are based on the SWAT standards employed by the South African Police Services. Some of our response officers have scored up to 95% on SWAT standards. Tactical support / Self defense The above mentioned training includes climbing techniques, arresting techniques, baton training, unarmed combat, offensive and defensive grappling and defense against knife attacks. This ensures we are able to protect our clients and their property effectively against criminals. Advanced driving Our R/O’s need to be accident free and be able to drive safely while under stress, this also means knowing the quickest access roads so that we can get to our clients fast without endangering the lives of other road users. All R/O’s do two advanced driving courses through accredited driving schools. Response times / Crime scene management At Securerite we strive for an average response time of between 3 and 5 minutes, we hand out monthly certificates for the officers with the best average response times and these are usually between 3 and 3.5 minutes. SAIDSA (South African Intruder Detection Association) who regulate the security industry in SA stipulate that a company may not take longer than 15 minutes to respond to an alarm signal. Another course we do with our R/O’s is crime scene management, here they learn how to approach and preserve a crime scene for the police to investigate. Note from our Armed Response Manager Mr. Herman Ras “When it comes to service, only the best is good enough for our clients.
