On Monday 22 June 2015 at approximately 16:30 Strand CID officers were on crime prevention foot patrols opposite Strand Railway Station when they noticed a young male suspect with a knife in his hand following a woman.
The Public safety officers suspected that the suspect had plans to assault and or rob the woman and sprang into action and called for back up from Secure Rite armed response units and then confronted the suspect to prevent him from harming the lady.
The suspect attempted to attack the public safety officers who quickly disarmed him and handcuffed him.The suspect that is from Belhar was taken to Strand Police Station and handed over to the Police as well as the knife.
